Bay Minette Elementary School

Several community leaders attended the groundbreaking for the new Bay Minette Elementary School. The ceremony held last Thursday at the Baldwin County Board of Education’s headquarters featured local community members, representatives from a building design firm, and the Bay Minette Police Department.

The new school will serve students in kindergarten through sixth grade. It is estimated to cost about $12 million. The school will also feature a 35-room wing. This could be a step in the right direction. It’s possible that the new school will attract businesses to the South Alabama Megasite.

The new school is not the only thing on the agenda for the Baldwin County Board of Education. They are also in the midst of a redesign of the county’s elementary and secondary schools. The new design is a far cry from the old-fashioned brick-and-mortar school. Using the latest technology and incorporating a state-of-the-art kitchen and a gym, the new school will offer students a state-of-the-art facility.
