Loggerhead Marinelife Center

During summer homeschooling in Lauderdale, you can visit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center to learn about the marine environment and learn about the various sea turtle species that call the area home. This non-profit ocean conservation centre offers a variety of exhibits, including a prehistoric Archelon sea turtle replica, saltwater aquaria, and displays of local wildlife. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center also has a guarded beach and picnic pavilions.

 

Gulf Coast Classical Academy

If you’re in the Lauderdale, Tasmania, area, and want to start your homeschooling program this summer, the Gulf Coast Classical Academy may be the perfect option for you! There are two levels of courses for homeschoolers to choose from – Basic and Premier. The Basic course is self-paced and includes immediate reinforcement through computer exercises. Students take a computer quiz each week, and the results are automatically graded and added to their transcript. The Premier level includes a teacher that meets with students twice a week using a virtual conferencing system. Both levels of courses prepare students for upper-level courses such as rhetoric and dialectic.
